Dual Enrollment/Dual Credit

The Dual-Enrollment and Dual-Credit program at The W gives high-school students the opportunity to earn college credits while learning about the college experience. Typically, students in this program take introductory courses:

  • English Composition
  • History of Civilization
  • Biology with Lab
  • Geography
  • Art Appreciation
  • College Algebra
  • Pre-Calculus
  • Calculus
  • Computer courses
  • Economics
  • Oral Communication
  • Theatre Appreciation
  • Music Appreciation
  • Psychology
  • Sociology

Dual credit and dual enrollment at The W offer some advantages for high-school students. Advanced-placement courses require students to take exams to be eligible for college credit and do not guarantee college credit unless the students make acceptable scores. In contrast, dual-credit and dual-enrollment courses are recorded on a MUW transcript and are readily accepted by four-year institutions as transfer work.
