Professor convenes roundtable on Confederate Symbolism in the 21st Century


COLUMBUS, Miss. -- Dr. James D. Ward, professor of political science at Mississippi University for Women, convened a roundtable discussion titled “Confederate Symbolism, Racism and Public Policy in the 21st Century” at the annual meeting of the Southeastern Conference of Public Administration in Charleston, S.C . Dr. Amber Handy Is the 2015 MHC Teacher of the Year

HPG is pleased to announce that Dr. Amber Handy, assistant professor of history and director of the Center for Teaching and Learning, is the 2015 Mississippi Humanities Council Teacher of the Year at The W.  Through innovative approaches in the classroom, like the creation of wiki communities, student blogs, and study abroad opportunities, she enlivens learning and makes the medieval relevant to modern students.

Constitution Day Presentation

Help us to celebrate Constitution Day by attending this year's event, "What the Constitution Means to Me: MUW Political Science Students Speak," on Thursday, September 17 at 5:00 pm in 113 Painter Hall. Dr. James Ward is coordinating a group presentation from our current political science students. Pocket-sized Constitutions will be distributed and voter registration materials will be available for those interested. We hope to see you there!
