The Social Sciences major is an interdisciplinary program rooted in History and Political Science, but with several elective options in Economics, Geography, Philosophy, and Sociology. The major has both B.A. and B.S. degree options and contains curricular flexibility attractive to non-traditional students and those with heavy employment commitments.
The foundational goal of the Social Sciences program is to develop students in the same strengths as the other programs in the department: critical thinking, research skills, analytical writing. However, instead of intensive focus within one discipline, this program exposes students to a broad array of disciplines, enabling them to forge linkages among several dimensions of human social behavior.
