Upholding the principle of shared governance that is the pillar of the university system, the MUW Faculty Senate is the representative body and collective voice of the MUW faculty. Its primary purpose is to serve as liaison between teaching faculty and the administration, including the President of the university. To that end, the Senate makes recommendations to the administration pertaining to faculty issues and academic programs and conveys pertinent information to the faculty as a whole. It is my hope that we will work together, sharing insights for future development and change to improve our institution.
The MUW Faculty Senate normally meets eight times on the fourth Friday of the month of the fall and spring semesters with the exception of December and May at 12:15 in Stark 101. The meetings are open to all faculty and anyone with an interest in Senate proceedings. If you have any questions or comments or if you would like to submit issues for consideration, please contact your college representative or me.
I look forward to hearing from you.
