Types of Aid

MUW offers a range of scholarships for which you may qualify. They are not only based on academic performance; some are directed for specific areas of study, financial need, or other attributes. Make sure to review the scholarships available and to complete the scholarship section of the MUW online application. Scholarship awards are limited, so make sure to apply for a scholarship as soon as possible.

MUW offers two types of graduate assistantships: teaching assistantships (TA) and research assistantships (RA). TAs and RAs receive a full or partial tuition waiver and a small living stipend. TAs are required to perform teaching duties. RAs are required to perform research duties, not necessarily related to the student's thesis research.

There are many loan options available to graduate students. You should be aware, however, that Federal loan options have been changing over the past few years. As of 2012, Graduate students can only borrow "unsubsidized" loans with interest accruing while they are enrolled. MUW's Office of Financial Aid is keeping a close eye on how the changes might affect you.
