Phi Beta LambdaCOLUMBUS, Miss. - Students from The W's Phi Beta Lambda chapter made an impressive showing at the 2013 Phi Beta Lambda State Leadership Conference last month in Natchez.

The 2013 Phi Beta Lambda State Leadership Conference winners include:

Kelly Ann Taylor: Client Service- 1st Place and Sales Presentation- 1st Place

John Tutor: Financial Concepts- 1st Place

Merry Johnson: Business Law- 1st Place and Public Speaking- 2nd Place

Olivia Dyer: Accounting for Professionals- 3rd Place

Brittney Eubanks: Accounting Analysis & Decision Making- 3rd Place

The top two finishers in each event are eligible to compete at the Phi Beta Lambda National Leadership Conference that will be held this year in California, June 22-25. The state conference was hosted by Co-Lin Community College in Natchez from Monday, February 25 until Wednesday, February 27 and was attended by approximately 200 college students from around the state, all competing in these and other business-related events.

Dr. Kyle Dempsey, Instructor of Psychology and Thomas Haffey, Instructor of Marketing are the advisers for PBL.

Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) student business organization with nearly a quarter million members and advisers in 6,000 chartered high school and college chapters worldwide. Its mission is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs.
