e-venture

The e-venture program was funded by a grant through the United States Department of Agriculture as part of the Rural Microentrepreneur Assistance Program. Funding concluded in 2015.  Participation in the program is still available through the Professional Learning Academy.

Class List:

Intro to Entrepreneurship:  This course familiarizes the learner with the concepts of entrepreneurship in the start-up phase. Learner will analyze their personal strengths and weaknesses, and gain information about starting the entrepreneurial journey.

Basics of Human Resource Management: This course provides various facets of human resources, with a focus on small business. The Learner will develop an understanding of human resources and why it is necessary in the workplace.

Basics of Marketing for Entrepreneurs: This course covers introductory marketing principles and practices specifically as the relate to entrepreneurs. Potential entrepreneurs will better understand how to develop and plan their venture in a marketing context from the very beginning. More experienced entrepreneurs will be refreshed in the areas of the marketing mix, consumer behavior, promotions, public relations, leadership, and branding.

Small Business Methods & Strategies:  This course provides various facets of small business methods. The Learner will develop an understanding of how to move forward and create a well-rounded structure for business start-ups.

Creating a Business Plan: This course will provide the Learner with information on how to create and market a business plan.

Strategic Management: This course is about strategic management - the excitement and challenge of providing the vision, developing the mission, and implementing the strategic intent for organizations.

Advanced Marketing Principles: Participants will learn advanced marketing principles and practices specifically as they relate to entrepreneurs. Potential entrepreneurs will better understand how to develop and plan their venture in an advanced marketing context. Educators will be able to take these skills and teach marketing and business plans to the classroom
