Insanity, XFIT, and Cardio Mix are new classes that have been added to Mississippi University for Women’s Campus Recreation fitness lineup, and on Monday, Aug. 26, the campus community and the public will be given the opportunity to preview these classes and more.
The RecFitness Kickoff will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Stark Recreation Center.
Trainers and wellness staff members will be on-hand to answer questions and provide strength and conditioning room orientations.
New classes this spring include Insanity, a high energy class focusing on the benefits of interval training. Participants will be encouraged to step up the intensity a few notches in this equipment-free workout using body weight exercises only. Also new this fall is XFIT, a total body workout with cardio intervals using strength equipment, and Cardio Mix, a class that combines high/low dance aerobics with step and strength training. Pilates, Yoga, Zumba, Ballet Barre, Cycle, and Step classes will also be returning this fall.
