Intramural Sports

The MUW Intramural Program offers a wide variety of individual, dual and team sport activities for women, men, and coed groups throughout the academic year.  Intramurals is a fun way to meet new people, become physically active and participate in friendly competition.  The atmosphere is informal to encourage participation for enjoyment of the activity rather than superior performance abilities.  Visit the Intramural Sports website.

Rec Fitness

Plymouth Bluff Center

Located in a secluded area high above the old Tombigbee River Channel near Columbus, Mississippi, the Plymouth Bluff Center is a 190-acre educational and recreational facility. This unique center in the beautiful woodlands of east central Mississippi provides the ideal setting for learning, growth, and recreation in a natural setting. Visit the Plymouth Bluff website.

  • Owls Athletics 2018 Golf Outing
    The Owls Athletic program currently offers 10 sports with over 100 student-athletes, coaches, and administrators. The W athletic program, after a 15 year break, is constantly growing with additional teams being added during the 2018-19 academic year. As we embark on attaining membership in NCAA Division III and compete in the always competitive NCAA South Region, we need your help to push the department forward. With your contributions, you will help make the student-athlete experience a memorable one.
  • Softball Closes Regular Season with a Doubleheader Split Against Judson
    COLUMBUS, Miss. – The Owls softball team closes the regular season in a doubleheader split with Judson College on Wednesday, April 18. The Owls struggled to get the scoring game going to fall 1-0 in game one but took game two 4-3 in a late inning comeback. The W moves to 19-17 on the season and is currently ranked 8th in the USCAA Coaches Poll.
  • Softball Halves Doubleheader with Stillman
    COLUMBUS, Miss. – The Owls softball team split the day with Stillman College, picking up game one 6-4 and dropping game two 5-2. The W moves to 18-16 on the season as the near the last games of the regular season.
  • Late Innings Prevent Owls Baseball Victory, Owls Fall 14-13 to Belhaven
    JACKSON, Miss. – The Owls baseball team was unable to keep the Belhaven Blazers at bay, falling 14-13 to Belhaven University in an 11-inning game. The Owls drop to 17-11 on the season in the midweek loss.
  • Baseball Splits with Tougaloo on the Road
    TOUGALOO, Miss. - The Owls baseball team split the day with the Tougaloo College Bulldogs on Sunday, April 8. The W dropped one and grabbed one, falling 9-6 in game one but picking up game two 10-7. With the series behind them, the Owls move to 17-10 on the season.
