The MUW Police Department must annually prepare an Annual Security Report & Fire Safety Report to comply with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act. This report is prepared in cooperation with police agencies surrounding The W campus, the Office of Housing & Residence Life, the Dean of Students' Office and the Division of Student Affairs.
The 2016 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report is currently located at http://www.muw.edu/police/clery#cleryreport.
Within the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report there are two sections. The first section of the report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off campus buildings or property owned and controlled by The W; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus. University policies concerning campus security, such as alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, where to obtain information on registered sex offenders and other matters are also located within the first section.
The Fire Safety Report contains information about campus fire safety practices and standards of the institution. This is the second section of the overall report.
